Michael Ashanti

The man is back, you asked for him and he said yes. There are a select, few recording artists who can transcend numerous boundaries through music. The debut release from Michael Ashanti entitled 'All Of Me' highlights the ability of this highly talented and well-rounded artist to use a R&B-Crossover influence to create a cohesive songwriting and vocal styling that effortlessly blends fusions of soul, dance, jazz, and pop.

Born in New York to parents of Jamaican heritage, Michael's sensibilities towards an international mindset were established early on. The greatest factor to shape Michael's diversity as an artist began when his father enlisted in the military which resulted in the relocation of his family every 1 to 3 years throughout the world.

During and shortly after his college years, Michael began to achieve humble exposure by performing background vocals or opening up for various recording artists, competing at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, singing the national anthem for a NBA game at the Madison Square Garden and performing as a featured artist for New York City's LGBT Pride 2008 celebration.

Michael's thirst to become a well-rounded business and creative force prompted him to combine his formal business education, international influences and passions for music into the manifestation of his debut CD project entitled 'All Of Me' which has already garnered support on general and LGBT-specific formats of radio and video outlets throughout the Americas, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, and Spain. On stage, Michael exemplifies the spirit of diversity and inclusion and confides "I hope that my presence at the Outburst UK Black Pride Festival will enable me to realize my vision of uniting present and emerging cultures through music".
